We are thrilled to share the successful launch of InnoVets’ Codex tech training program, an initiative designed to equip Veterans and members of the military community with the essential skills for a thriving career in cybersecurity and the broader tech industry.
Service members are uniquely suited for the demanding field of technology. Throughout their military careers, Veterans consistently demonstrate the crucial abilities to adapt in real-time, quickly master new equipment, and employ sophisticated techniques—traits that are invaluable in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
The need for skilled professionals has never been greater. Cybersecurity threats pose a significant risk, costing the United States tens of billions of dollars each year in financial losses and lost productivity. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a need for an additional 50,000 trained professionals by 2034.
By training Veterans to fill these high-skill, in-demand roles, Codex offers a path to a successful transition from military to civilian life. Participants gain a well-paying career that allows them to continue serving and protecting their communities, leveraging the unique discipline and problem-solving skills honed during their service.
In October 2025, the Codex program proudly stood up its first cohort. A class of 9 Veterans and civilians from across Massachusetts took part in an intensive 3-day ‘Intro to Linux’ bootcamp.
The launch of the Codex program represents a powerful step forward in supporting our Veteran community and strengthening the national cybersecurity workforce. We look forward to sharing more about the continued success of our students and future cohorts!
