On Friday, April 3rd the fourth and final cohort of Codex classes wrapped up for the season.
Throughout the last 6 months Veterans from across Massachusetts came together at the Emond Center for Engagement in Boston's Seaport District to participate in various learning domains as they sharpened their technology skills and prepared for the 21st century workforce.
Four cohorts came together to learn basic cyber security techniques, basic Linux operating system skills, and introductory and intermediate Python programming. These Veterans forged new friendships, built new knowledge bases, and created a community.
This particular group of students took part in our Intermediate Python course, where they learned to code their first application. Each of these student Veterans had previously completed our 'Introduction to Python' class earlier in 2026.
As we prepare for the next year of Codex, beginning in the Fall of 2026, we are looking to expand our offering of classes, bringing in guest lecturers and mentors, and introducing new technologies like generative AI to keep Veterans competitive in the workforce. We're also looking at employment and real-world training opportunities with our partners and sponsors. By providing opportunities to Veterans that expose them to today's fast-paced, constantly evolving world, we can empower them and our community.
