We are proud to be assisting multiple Veterans who have been denied employment by the Boston Fire Department. Unfortunately, many municipalities have chosen to opt-in to the alternative hybrid hiring system which bypasses statutory hiring preferences and civil service test scores. This hybrid hiring system is preventing highly qualified Veterans from becoming firefighters and police officers while prioritizing lower ranked, less qualified applicants. The hybrid hiring process is often conducted behind closed doors and favors political considerations over qualifications and merit.
